For brandy lovers with a sweet tooth!
Silky, boozy burnt butter brandy sauce swirled into creamy ice-cream? Yeah, we went there. And trust us, you should too.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 6
- 1 tub of ice cream (your choice!)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/4 cup KWV 5 Year Brandy
METHOD
- Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add butter and sugar, stirring until the butter browns and the sugar melts.
- Pour in the cream and let the mixture bubble and thicken.
- Remove from heat, stir in the brandy, and set aside to cool (if you can wait that long).
- Let the ice cream soften slightly, then drizzle in the burnt brandy butter sauce.
- Use a knife or chopstick to swirl it in—don’t mix too much, we want those caramel ribbons!
- Serve with an extra drizzle of sauce because *why not?*
Pro tip: You can swirl the caramel into the whole tub or just a portion if you want to keep things civilised (but why would you?).
